To function as an automated management tool, Nocturne must store certain configuration data about your server. We are committed to transparency regarding what data we collect and how it is used.

1. Data We Collect

Nocturne relies on an internal SQLite database to operate. We only store the data strictly necessary for the bot to perform its configured tasks. We actively collect and store:
  • Server Data: Guild IDs and Webhook URLs (used exclusively for sending audit logs to your configured channel).
  • Configuration Data: Your custom tree layouts, active server flags (e.g., instant-fire, persistence), and custom DM notice messages.
  • Role Data: Discord Role IDs associated with your base roles, linked roles, and manager whitelists.
Blacklist Data:
  • User IDs & Server IDs: We collect and store specific User IDs and Server IDs only if that user or server has been added to our internal blacklist for abusing the bot.
We do NOT read your messages. Nocturne does not read, log, or store the contents of standard user messages or conversations in your server. It only processes text actively submitted through its Slash Commands.

2. How We Use Your Data

The data collected is used solely to:
  • Enforce your configured staff hierarchies and automate role assignments.
  • Send customised direct messages on behalf of your server management.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the bot by blocking blacklisted entities from executing commands.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. The only external service your data interacts with is the official Discord API, which is necessary to execute commands, assign roles, and send messages.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Standard Data: Your server configurations, trees, and role mappings are stored indefinitely.
    • Note: Removing or kicking the bot from your server does NOT automatically delete your database entry. This is done to ensure your hierarchies and settings remain intact should you choose to re-invite Nocturne at a later date.
  • Data Deletion: If you wish to permanently purge your server’s configuration data from our database, you must explicitly request deletion by joining our Support Server and opening a ticket.
To protect the bot from repeated abuse, User IDs and Server IDs stored on the Blacklist are retained indefinitely. Because this data is required to actively prevent malicious use of our service, users cannot request the deletion of blacklisted IDs. If you believe you have been blacklisted in error, you must join our support server and submit an appeal via a ticket.

5. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your privacy or data, please join our Support Server and open a ticket. Our team will be happy to assist you.
